Professional Tote

Wed, Sept 7 - Thur, Sept 8 and Fri, Sept 9, if needed:  10am -

4pm  $36.00 includes Sept 7 - 8 or $50 for 3 day class

Let Joan take you through the steps to create this awesome tote bag!  If you always wanted a nicely made big sized travel tote to carry your sewing supplies and rulers, or a diaper bag or even a laptop computer or lots of other goodies for business or for pleasure, this is definitely the best one to make!!  There is a pleated pocket on each side of the tote to hold a bottle of water, umbrella, magazine, baby bottle or telephone. Also, on the front is a zippered pocket to hold your ID and Passport for your airport travel. Behind that pocket is one for your boarding pass. On the backside is one large pocket for a newspaper.  We have had this on display at the shop and everyone loves this great tote bag with all the wonderful pockets and even the elastic side pockets for your drinks!  Joan has the bag all broken down in to sections to work on so it will be much easier to follow her shortcuts than the written instuctions on the pattern!  You should be able to finish the bag in class within 2 class days, but you can come an extra day if needed!  Finished size is 18" wide x 15" tall x 5" deep.  Get signed up and see the supply list here.

Continuous Bias Strips

Crestwood Purse

Mon, Aug 15 and Aug 22:   10am - 5pm   $40.00 Includes both

Most of the purses on the market are too hard and stiff to make them usuable so lots of people are making their own with softer and more breathable products, and they get to customize them with super cute fabrics for the insides and outsides!  Debbie will guide you through the steps to create this adorable Crestwood Purse from Indygo Junction.  It has a real cute (and soft) band with the loose fitting fabric around the bottom, and you'll love the pockets built inside!  She has provided 2 days to finish your project and you can see the supply list Here.

Braid Runner

Thur, Aug 18:  10:30 - 3:00   $18.00

This class was so popular, we're offering it again!  Most of us LOVE a Quilt-as-you-go project so you'll definitely LOVE this gorgeous table runner that is totally made with the backing, batting and piecing all at one time!  The construction is very easy and perfect for beginners!  The finished runner is just the right size for your coffee table, dresser, mantle, or your kitchen table and you'll LOVE the clean sharp lines of the stitching.  Let Georgene take you to the finish line with this wonderful project!  See supply list Here.

Flippy Corners Workshop

Thur, Aug 25 at 10am - 12pm    $12.00

Try this method of stitching on a diagonal line drawn on a small square of fabric, which is placed on the corner of a larger square of fabric, and you'll end up with a way to add triangles to your block corners.  But sometimes, when the triangle is "flipped" up, it often does not form a good square corner.  Debi will give you tips to have an accurate block when you're finished. See the preparation and supply list .

Tin Lizzie Quilting Classes with Linda

  • Great news! If you are one of the many people that have been waiting and wishing for a chance to bring a quilt of your own to put on our Tin Lizzie to quilt yourself, then mark your calendars for Monday, May 9 and May 23 at 1:00 - 3:30pm for just $12.00!
  • Linda O’Connor has been using her own Tin Lizzie to quilt lots of quilts for people so you will get a brief demo of the basics of using the Tin Lizzie and then she will show you how to load the fabrics and batting on to the frame. She will also show you how to begin with simple free motion quilting techniques, using stencils for quilting, and also using the pantographs on the rear of the machine. And then, it’s your turn! You will get your own time to try all 3 of these techniques and this will help you choose which one(s) you’ll want to use when you bring your quilt.
  • As a bonus, I will also have the new Shirley Stitcher attachment that offers automatic computerized quilting with the push of a button, which is totally GREAT! We’ll have a short demo with that option as well.
  • Because this class offers so much in just a short period, and we want to make sure everyone has plenty of time to use the frame, the class size is limited to 3-4 people at a time. Linda will offer more class times as needed to accommodate students, but we need your name on the sign-up list right away to hold your spot!!
  • Go see the Tin Lizzie online at: http://tinlizzie18.com/
